Terms and disclaimers

What this is, and what it isn’t.

Short version: this is an arithmetic toy and a planning aid. It is not advice, the figures are estimates, and you should check anything that would change a decision.

Not professional advice

Greener does not provide tax, legal, accounting, employment, immigration, real-estate or investment advice, and nothing here creates a professional relationship of any kind. We are not licensed advisors. For anything that matters, talk to someone who is.

The numbers are estimates

Tax calculations assume a single filer taking the standard deduction, using 2026 federal brackets and a 7.65% payroll rate. State figures are approximate effective rates for a middle income, not top marginal rates, and they ignore county and city taxes, credits, deductions, filing status, dependants, retirement contributions and pre-tax benefits.

Rents, moving costs and salary ranges are approximations for typical cases. They are not quotes, offers, appraisals or predictions, and real listings will differ. Tax law and housing markets change; figures here may be out of date at any moment.

Plans are generated by software

Personalized plans are produced by a large language model working from the answers you give it. Model output can be wrong, incomplete or confidently mistaken, including about salaries, job markets, neighbourhoods and costs. Treat every plan as a starting point for your own research rather than a finding of fact.

City recommendations reflect a generated opinion, not an endorsement, ranking, or statement of fact about any place, employer or market.

No warranty

The site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any figure it produces is accurate or current.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Greener and anyone associated with it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost income, lost savings, lost opportunity, moving costs, or other losses arising out of or relating to your use of the site or reliance on anything it produces, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of the above may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Your decisions are yours

You are solely responsible for any decision you make about where to live, what job to take, what to accept or decline, and what to spend. Do not treat a number on this site as a reason to sign anything.

What we store

The calculator runs entirely in your browser and sends us nothing. Your board and any plan you generate are stored, because they are useless if they vanish. The privacy policy covers exactly what that means and how to have it deleted.

Disputes, and how they get resolved

If something goes wrong, email us first — most things end there. Please give us 30 days to sort it out before starting anything formal.

If that fails, you and Greener agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to the site or these terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, not in court and not before a jury, under the rules of a recognised consumer arbitration provider. Either of us may still bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.

Claims must be brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative action, and an arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims. If this paragraph is found unenforceable, the rest of this section does not apply to that claim.

You can opt out. Email us within 30 days of first using the site, saying you decline arbitration, and this section will not apply to you. Nothing else changes if you do.

Any claim must be brought within one year of when it arose. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes and contact

These terms may change; continuing to use the site means accepting the current version. Questions go to hello@example.com.

Last updated 2026. If any part of this is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
